Registration

  1. When does registration start and end?

    Teachers may register their school from 9th January to 1st March 2019 (3pm). Students are advised to register and create their accounts as soon as they receive their registration codes.

  2. I am a student and I have not received the activation link to complete my account registration. What should I do?Please do the following:
      • If you are using Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Microsoft Live, please check your Spam or Junk Mail folder. For Gmail accounts, check under your Promotions tab as well for the activation link email.
      • If the email cannot be found in the Spam or Junk Mail folder or Promotions tab, email us at dklsaward@ictlearning.com or WhatsApp us at 010-819 2830 for further assistance. Please ensure that you are using an email address that is active and working or that you have spelled your e-mail address correctly.
  3. I am a student and I have entered the wrong email address while creating my account. What should I do?

  4. I am a school teacher. How do I register my school?

  5. I am a school teacher. Can my fellow teachers in my school also register for their Form 4 and Form 5 students?

    Yes, they can. Click here to view a quick guide on how to register to receive registration codes for your students.

  6. My students have received their registration codes. If my students register even after school registration closing date, will this impact their online writing course work?

    Students will be able to register with their assigned registration codes even after the school registration closing date. However, students are advised to immediately register as soon as they receive their registration codes because the online writing lessons will only be available from 21st January until 5th April 2019 for students to complete if they wish to participate in the essay writing competition.

  7. If I have 20 students registered for this course but only a few managed to complete the online lessons, will this impact their final participation result because the other schoolmates did not complete the lesson?

    This does not influence or impact the individual student’s participation result.

  8. How many students can join?

    There is no limit to the number of students who can participate in the essay writing competition.

  9. I am a student in a government school and I’m really interested to participate. How do I register?

    You may ask your English teacher to register the school to request for registration codes. You may download and print or email this flyer link for your teacher. Click here.

  10. I am a student in a private school or private university, or I am enrolled in Form 6. Am I eligible to participate?

    Only students enrolled in Malaysian government schools are eligible to enter. Students enrolled in Form 6, matriculation programmes, private or independent funded schools, private or public colleges or universities are not eligible to enter.

About The “DKLS Linguistic Ambassador Award” Essay Writing Competition with ELS Language Centres

  1. What is the “DKLS Linguistic Ambassador Award” Essay Writing Competition with ELS Language Centres?

    It comprises of a free online writing programme and an essay writing competition. To know more, please click here.

  2. Are there any fees required to participate?

    There is no entry fees required to register or participate in this competition.

  3. Who is eligible to participate?

    The competition is open to all students currently enrolled in Form 4 or Form 5 in Malaysian government schools. Students must also be aged between 16 to 18 years old in 2019. Students enrolled in Form 6, matriculation programmes, private or independent funded schools, private or public colleges or universities are not eligible to enter.

  4. What is the age limitation for participation?

    Students must be aged between 16 to 18 years old in 2019 and they must be a Form 4 or Form 5 student in a Malaysian government school. Students enrolled in Form 6, matriculation programmes, private or independent funded schools, private or public colleges or universities are not eligible to enter.

  5. What are the technical/software requirements to participate in this programme?

    If you are a new user, please check that you have the following:

    Browser

    • An up-to-date version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari is strongly recommended.
    • A stable Internet Connectivity. Test your connectivity at: http://www.speedtest.net/. Do the testing at least 3 times to get a more accurate data.
      Download: 2+ Mbps recommended; minimum 1 Mbps.
      Upload: 0.5 Mbps.

    Operating System

    • PC: Windows 8 or higher with latest updates installed.
    • Mac: OS X 10.6 or higher with latest updates installed.
    • Linux: Any recent distribution that has the supported browsers installed.

    Mobile Apps

    • iOS: Requires iOS 8.1 or later
    • Android: Requires Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) or later

    Stable Internet access (not less than 1Mbps)

About The Online Writing Programme

  1. When does the online writing programme begin?

    The online writing programme will begin on 21st January 2019 and will end on 5th April 2019.

  2. How many lessons or exercises are there in the online writing course?

    The writing programme is composed of 15 lessons on essay writing. Each interactive lesson will take approximate 25 to 30 minutes to complete.

    There will also be online interactive activities and discussions led by an online coach inside the SunagoLearn online community – a platform designed to facilitate experiential learning using games and activities that challenge participants while reinforcing their writing skills.

  3. Do the participants get a certificate for participation in this online writing course?

    Yes, as long as participants complete all 15 lessons with a general average grade of at least 50% by 5th April 2019.

About The Essay Writing Competition

  1. When does the essay competition begin?

    The online essay competition will begin on 5th April until 3rd May 2019.

  2. Is it compulsory to enrol in the online writing course to participate in the competition?

    Yes.

  3. How to I qualify for the essay writing competition?

    Complete all 15 lessons with a general average grade of at least 75% by 5th April 2019.

  4. What is the deadline for the essay writing competition?

    Students must submit their essays before or at 3pm of 3rd May 2019 to avoid being disqualified.

  5. What prizes will the winners receive?
